- Gradual fat loss, especially around the midsection — frequently reported. Assessment: Stories describe slow changes around the midsection over several weeks, usually alongside diet and exercise; these are not clinical body-composition measurements.
- Leaner look and better muscle retention — frequently reported. Reviewer note: People report a leaner look or better muscle retention while dieting, generally as a subtle change tied to consistent training and food habits.
- Firmer skin and connective-tissue feel — occasionally reported. Report file: Some accounts mention firmer skin or better-conditioned joints and connective tissue; these subjective impressions have not been documented as trial outcomes.
- More daytime energy and stamina — occasionally reported. Assessment: Some people feel less worn down during the day, while others report no difference; the signal is inconsistent and often follows better sleep.

Safety findings for the review file
Not approved for human use anywhere. Reviewer finding: CJC-1295 is not approved for human use by the FDA or another major regulator. Its human record is limited to small, early pharmacology studies, with no large or long-term safety trial in healthy adults. [1] [17]
Discontinued development program and a cited patient death. Reviewer finding 2: The long-acting DAC program entered a Phase 2 study in HIV-associated visceral obesity and was discontinued. A patient death is often cited with that history, but the public record does not establish that CJC-1295 caused it. [7]
DAC and no-DAC forms are routinely confused. Reviewer finding: CJC-1295 DAC and no-DAC Modified GRF (1-29) are often treated as the same product even though one remains active for days and the other for minutes to hours. That difference changes how every report is interpreted. [2] [16]
Sustained IGF-1 elevation and theoretical cancer risk. Reviewer finding 4: CJC-1295 raises growth hormone and IGF-1. Population research links higher circulating IGF-1 with a modest increase in some cancer risks, creating a theoretical concern rather than proof that this compound causes cancer. [18]
Fluid retention, swelling, and nerve-compression effects. Reviewer finding: Growth hormone promotes kidney retention of sodium and water. That mechanism gives the reports of puffiness, swelling, and nerve-compression tingling a biological basis and makes the issue more than cosmetic. [19]
Effects on blood sugar and insulin sensitivity. Reviewer finding 6: Growth hormone is glucose-sparing, so sustained GH-axis activity can reduce insulin sensitivity and raise blood sugar. A clinical GHRH-analog study documented an effect on insulin sensitivity. [10]
Immunogenicity flagged by the FDA. Reviewer finding: FDA briefing materials raised immunogenicity—the possibility of an immune response to the peptide—when CJC-1295 was not recommended for the 503A compounding bulks list. This is a regulator-level concern, not a settled clinical outcome. [20] [12]
Prohibited in sport at all times. Reviewer finding 8: CJC-1295 is prohibited at all times under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s S2 category. Established laboratory methods also make this an eligibility and detection issue, separate from health effects. [21]
